The Digital Content NewFront 2009

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending and helping out at the Digital Content NewFront, an event that was thrown by Digitas during Internet Week New York. It was all about the future of digital content and how content creators were planning on building audiences/making money for their endeavors.
Anyhow, it got me thinking about how I don’t know/write much about video content and its role in social media, which is something that I’d like to change. I met a few cool people yesterday who do podcasting and seem pretty knowledgeable about that area, so in the upcoming weeks, I’m going to try to interview them/try to maybe get someone to write a guest post.
But more importantly, there were lots of famous people there! Here are some of my celeb highlights:
- I saw Al Gore speak. He was actually a pretty charismatic speaker. But most importantly, saying that I saw Al Gore give a speech makes me feel like a big shot. And no one can take that away from me!
Edited to add: Actually, you probably can.
- Tom Green’s panel was hilarious – and really insightful. Also, at one point, he was only standing ten feet away from me.
- I found Milo Ventimiglia (who was a part of Tom Green’s panel) to be particularly insightful. Also, he tweeted “It was nice to meet you” at a bunch of people who attended yesterday and I was one of them! Except that we didn’t really meet. He met my boss. And I saw him about ten feet away, talking to my boss.
- I got interviewed on camera for the live feed for about two seconds by College Humor’s Jake and Amir (I was actually repeating one of Milo’s panel comments). But in any case, they are hilarious.
- I got to meet Justine Bateman! And I told her that I loved her guest-star appearance on Arrested Development. I really did.
You can see pictures of the event from the Digitas Flickr account here. Hint: the celeb photos start on page two.
